The Story Behind Swaytown:

Greg and Blake’s Journey to Better Wellness

In a marketplace filled with hemp-based products, Swaytown stands apart. Not just for its bold personality and high-end quality, but for the deeply personal mission that drives it: improving lives.

For Greg, a retired Army veteran, the path to founding Swaytown began after his military service. Like many veterans, Greg faced the physical and emotional toll of years spent in service—chronic pain, disrupted sleep, and the day-to-day struggles that followed. Seeking alternatives to conventional treatments, he discovered hemp, which proved to be transformative. “Hemp has benefited me in many ways,” Greg says. “It helps manage my pain, improves my mood, and supports better sleep.” Knowing firsthand how hemp improved his own quality of life, Greg wanted to create a brand that could do the same for others—especially fellow veterans. His vision for Swaytown was rooted in honesty and integrity, values he learned during his military career, and he’s committed to ensuring that these principles remain at the heart of the brand.

Blake, the other half of Swaytown’s founding team, brings a different but equally compelling story. With a background in e-commerce and product development, Blake had all the tools to create a successful business. But it was his wife’s experience with multiple sclerosis (MS) that gave him the drive to start Swaytown. Seventeen years ago, Blake’s wife was diagnosed with MS, and while her medication helped, the side effects were hard to manage. After a doctor recommended exploring cannabis, the results were life-changing. “It worked,” Blake says. “It didn’t cure her condition, but it improved her quality of life in significant ways—helping with nausea and improving her sleep.” Inspired by this transformation, Blake joined forces with Greg to create hemp-based products that would improve the lives of others.

Together, Greg and Blake built Swaytown with a clear focus: creating premium hemp products that improve the quality of life for their customers. They recognized a gap in the market—too many companies were focused on getting customers high, while Greg and Blake wanted to focus on wellness, particularly for people managing chronic conditions and veterans seeking natural relief. “Quality of life is our priority,” Blake says. “We wanted to create a bold, fun brand, but one that still focuses on delivering high-end products.”

“We knew going in that hemp would be a different kind of business,” Blake explains. “But the regulatory roadblocks and limitations have made this the most demanding venture we’ve taken on.” Still, their focus remains fixed on ensuring every product meets their high standards, no matter the challenges.

At the end of the day, both Greg and Blake measure success not in sales or revenue, but in the lives they’re able to touch. “Seeing how our products improve people’s quality of life is everything,” Greg says. Whether it’s helping veterans manage the aftereffects of service or supporting people like Blake’s wife, Swaytown was built to make a difference. And while the road hasn’t been easy, Greg and Blake’s mission remains clear: to help people feel better and live better, one product at a time.
